Growing closer to God and developing their individual walk is a priority for campers.

Kids’ Ark Lodge will be the Youth Camp headquarters. The lodge will contain the main office area and check-in area for visiting youth groups, and will be the main gathering place for team planning, special visitors and special dinners for team leaders. The lodge will contain a fireplace, team leader lounge area/office, media room and internet/international calling room.

The Visual Concept Ark Building will be the icon for Kids Ark International in the likeness of Noah’s Ark. Inside, the kids can explore, view real indian artifacts in several rooms, Honduran antiques, bells, clocks, Honduran art displays, and much more. The Ark will have a view for all to enjoy of Lake Yojoa, which is surrounded by towering rain forest covered mountains.

The Multi-Purpose Gymnasium is necessary for indoor games, dramas, and special events. Basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, kickball, indoor soccer, croquet, and nightly games will be some of the many options that can be enjoyed by visiting youth.

The Main Chapel will be the most important building of all! Nightly fellowship and worship services will be held allowing kids to reflect on personal growth that happens while at camp. Growing closer to God and developing their individual walk is a priority for campers.

The Amphitheater will be used for a variety of uses. Group leaders, youth pastor and team directors can use the Amphitheater for speaking, concerts and special meetings. The Amphitheater will rest on a rain forest covered hillside.

Horseback Riding is an activity where youth can learn horsemanship skills as they participate in arena riding and trail riding. The self-discipline required to understand and control a horse instills a sense of responsibility and enhances task concentration in the rider.

Pavilions are a must for any outdoor event and will be placed throughout the campsite for devotions, picnics, parties, and youth activity planning. All pavilions will have picnic tables and a grilling area. Treehouses are both intriguing and interesting to kids. Bird Watching in this particular area is very rewarding because of the 500 plus species of birds including toucans, macaws, and a large variety of parrots.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.
-Jeremiah 1:5

Kids’ Ark Marina will be the central location where kids will meet and enjoy boating adventures. Water fun is a must at camp whether it’s Water Skiing, Tubing or Banana Boat Riding! Canoeing and Kayaking are indeed a favorite among youth. Kids from all walks of life love water. Kids can take a nice easy ride across the pond or compete in a team event. Swimming is something that almost all kids love to do. In Honduras, most kids have never had the opportunity to swim in a clean pool and the percentage of kids that can actually swim is low. We want to offer fun and safe swimming for kids that visit Kids’ Ark International Youth Camp.

Hiking at Kids’ Ark campsite is an adventure in itself. Blaze your own trail through the 15 miles of rolling hills and rain forest covered mountains. Depending on which trail you choose you may see a sloth, toucan or large iguana.

The Obstacle Course will challenge kids to overcome and prevail. Two parallel 135° obstacle courses will allow teams to compete, test their maneuvering skills, and promote team work among other youth. Climbing is a challenge and we want to use the Rock Climbing Tower to illustrate life’s basic principles and how it’s worth reaching for goals. The outdoor Rock Climbing Tower will be the only one in Honduras.

The Playground area will include slides, monkey bars, jungle jim, swings, sand boxes, and much more. All of the smaller campers will have a place enclosed just for them to enjoy.
